A Peak Into Our Past

September 19, 2010 Leave a comment

Ben Wisdom, a virtual acquaintance that I follow on Google Reader, shared the link to this photo collection quite a while back. Many (many, many) weeks went by before I finally took the time to go to the link to view the collection. I kept saving the link in Google Reader until I finally got around to it.

The collection, titled “Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943“,  offers a brief glimpse into our past. It is a an interesting view into how things were for some folks in America in the not so distant past. My parents were children and teens during this time, so this is part of their experience. I hope you enjoy it.

As the Garden Grows

May 7, 2009 2 comments

We have a small garden this year, a combination of containers and a small plot, in our back yard and on our porch. Just thought I would post some progress photos. It’s a good time to do so since it is still early and growth is visible, the deathly heat hasn’t set in, the weeds are ‘not yet’, and the watering needs aren’t that great yet. And there is always the possibility that as the obstacles become greater, the less care the garden might receive… just sayin’.

The photos are a couple of days shy of being three weeks apart – April 18th and May 7th. Kinda cool.

Anyway, that’s our small garden as of today. There are a few more tomatoes planted around the house but no photos – ‘left overs’ for which we did not have space for yet. Just fun. And hopefully delicious. 🙂
