Christ, the Bridegroom

I would like to thank my sweet wife for reminding me of this podcast this morning, a teaching on Christ as the Bridegroom. It is one in a series of teachings by Fr Thomas Hopko on Great Lent (all are well worth listening to), leading up to Pascha (Easter).

An aside for those who may not know (which is probably most everybody): The eastern Church and those in the west do not use the same calendar (and/or method) for determining the date for Pascha (Easter) each year. This year there is a one week difference in dates, which means this week is Holy Week for the Orthodox, leading to the celebration of Pascha this coming Sunday. The Church holds services throughout Holy Week, beginning with the Bridegroom service being served on Monday and Tuesday.
