Soul Ravings

Cold, gray, ashen day
Sun above but not seen
Warmth the same but not felt
Alone, the depths do I plumb
In love from above to heights I climb
So rare, so rare
Why?

Man of shame, man of sin
Man of the world, yet child within
“Weep not, man, be seen as weak!”
“Weep not, man, be seen as meek!”
Weep thou, my soul, for weeping not
When tears appear but the door you shut
When heart is hidden, but the man is not
Why?
Still, and yet….
Bless the Lord, O my soul
